rent/borrow cello in Pittsburgh?

Hello, wonderful cellists!

It's been a few years now since the festival was out on the West Coast -- I'm glad I got to meet some of you then, but it's been too long.

I will be travelling to Pittsburgh and environs at the end of July for a 10-day tour with a Fado band. The costs and logistics of flying with my cello (I only have one cello baby so I'm not willing to check it as baggage and take my chances) are daunting, so I'm looking into renting or borrowing a cello from the Pittsburgh area for the duration of the tour.

Does anyone have recommendations of a good place to rent a cello in the Pittsburgh area? I'd prefer a step up from the usual entry level student cello in terms of sound quality, but I'm not looking for a fancy collector's instrument or anything. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

travel cello wanted to rent or buy

I'm looking for a cello to fly with August 2010 and thought it might be cheaper to buy or rent than give the $$ to Delta. Interested in making some money this summer? Rent me your travel cello! Can be electric or not.

Amplifiers

I am looking at replacing my amplifier. Could folks tell me what they use and like? I use a The Band pickup on an acoustic. I like the sound, don't use any of the effects on my guitar amp. I might like a little more bass.

Oh, and sometimes I use an octave shifter pedal to play bass for a combo.

Suggestions?

Is anybody out there?

Just thought I'd try to find out how many people are active on the forum on this website. I've just started playing my acoustic cello with a jam group a year ago, and am now starting to feel the need to talk to other cellists for support and help.

So, should I spend my time here, or will it be (close to) futile? Is there another active forum that everyone has gone to that I need to know about?

purchasing cheap electric cello

I would like to buy an electric cello, starting at the cheaper end. Are the really cheap cellos like the ceclio range horrible, or just not great?

I live in Australia, currently travelling in US, keen to see some of the electric cellos in the flesh.

Hi everyone! I'm Bruno, from São Paulo, Brazil. I'm going to the Festival this year and I'll be in New York City in June 2, 3 and 4. I'm looking for someone that can give me a ride to get there and/or to come back to NY in June, 7, so that I don't miss my flight back to Brazil in June, 8.
